The Dynatrac ProRock 44™ front axle offers incredible strength and unmatched ground clearance. We engineered this ProRock 44 as a direct replacement housing for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK front axles, replacing the factory Dana 44, addressing the critical areas that fail when larger tires are installed and the vehicle is used regularly off-road.

The Dynatrac ProRock 44 offers more strength and features than competitors:

  • Patented ProRock shape delivers more ground clearance than a Dana 30
  • In fact, that’s the most ground clearance of any Dana 44-based axle
  • The strongest end forgings, made by Dynatrac in the USA
  • Rock-proof nodular-iron Dynatrac differential cover included
  • Heavy-duty 3.0-inch diameter axle tubes with 1/2-inch wall thickness
  • DOM (drawn-over mandrel) tubing
  • New upper suspension bushings already installed
  • Includes the strongest balljoints in the world: Dynatrac HD Rebuildable Balljoints
  • Laser cut suspension brackets that are thicker and stronger than factory
  • Retains the Next-Gen JK 44 ring and pinion for more strength over earlier Dana 44 designs
  • Entire axle housing is manufactured in the USA
  • Exclusive Dynatrac no-fault, 12-month and unlimited-mileage warranty

When using the axle configurator on this page, you can choose a ProRock 44 housing. If you the ProRock 44 is for use in factory Rubicon, you will re-use the factory electric locker. For all others, choose a completely assembled ProRock 44 which will come with your choice of new differential or locker. If you choose an assembled ProRock 44 with a new differential or locker, the price includes the ring-and-pinion gearset, gear setup and install kit, yoke and the axle will come to you assembled. You will need to add the knuckles and brakes from your factory axle.

The price of the ProRock 44 also includes your choice of Dynatrac Track Bar Bracket, and you can choose a standard or Unlimited housing. The Unlimited housing has more caster built in for use with taller suspension lifts.

*NOTES:

  • Using the the integrated ram-assist bracket on the ProRock 44 requires that you flip the drag link. You can read details by clicking here.
  • The new ram assist/steering stabilizer bracket for the ProRock44 is not compatible with Reid Racing knuckles. If you wish to use Reid Racing knuckles, we can substitute our first-generation raised trackbar bracket which does not have the integrated ram assist/steering stabilizer mount. Please call 714-596-4461 for details.

LubeLocker gaskets too

Forgot to mention love the leak-proof (and no silicone) LubeLocker gaskets, which are LLR-PR44 and LLR-PR60

Good stuff - just put in Grizzlys

Bought our 08 JKU with beefy ProRocks already under it (44 front, semi-60 rear), and 37s. Front has RCV 30-spline shafts, Spyntec free-spin hubs (D30/44), and Warn lockouts (Warn 60165, now discontinued - now have to use a 19-spline Warn 20990 and a 300M 30-spline replacement gear from RCV).

Don't like selectable lockers so we just replaced both ARBs with Grizzlys. So long as the front is 30-spline Grizzlys (or Detroits) will fit (no 35-spline Grizzly). The carrier bearings are different - you'll need #25590 (bearing), #25523 (race) with the smaller i.d. to fit the Grizzlys (and presumably Detroits).

One of the best upgrades

Hands down one of the best upgrades so far. It's night and day compared to stock D44. Not only did I gain strength but the high pinion angle was a must after lifting a 2 door. The C's are nearly twice as wide and gained almost an inch of clearance. Wish I would have just spent the money a along time ago. ProGrip with ProRock...up next is a ProRock 60!!!

PR44- The only Option

I have a 2008 JK. I had a stock D30F with 3.21 gears. After constantly worrying about it's durability, I finally bent the housing. Knowing 37" tires were the biggest I'd go, I decided upon the golden standard- the PR44. After 2k miles on the PR44- all I can say is that I should've done this MUCH sooner. I opted for the Ultimate 44 and I now have the Confidence to Explore any obstacle I choose. The axle is beefy, the high pinion, thicker and larger tubes, gigantic axle C's, and phenomenal housing clearance are just as advertised. Do yourself a favor. Choose once. Choose Dynatrac. You won't regret it.
